CHICAGO - Asabi Goodman (Matron 'Mama' Morton)

CHICAGO the musical has returned to Australia. I was thrilled to speak to Asabi Goodman who stars as Matron 'Mama' Morton. Asabi is an American born-Australian performer who began her career as an Engineer before she made her professional theatrical debut. Asabi's most recent credits include Motormouth Maybelle in the original Broadway production of 'Hairspray', both the Australian nation tour (Crossroads Live) and the US Broadway national tour (NETWorks). GREASE - John Frost, Producer (Crossroads Live Australia)

Our own Olivia Newton-John starred as Sandy in the 1978 film GREASE. The stage musical, which the film is based on has a long history in Australia, from 1972 Broadway to Australia produced by Harry M Miller, Gordon Frost Productions and now Crossroads Live Australia - Producer John Frost (AM) has been at the forefront and this is a lovely in-depth history of the musical for any fan.
